so some small info has started trickling in. the season opener may start right after the season left off, but in that episode rory does go to washington d.c
this isn't specific to episodes yet, but is in the works.
paris will meet a guy in d.c., there will be another girl for jess when rory gets back. and as far as i can tell sherry stays pregnant, but chris should be appearing sometime in the beginning of the season.

An unpopular high school student (James Manning) is befriended by Rory.
The season opener may start right after the season left off, but in that episode Rory does go to Washington D.C.
As far as spiced can tell, Sherry stays pregnant
Christopher returns sometime in the beginning of the season
This doesn't happen for a while, but Rory won't be heading to Harvard when the time comes. She'll be going to Yale, for a number of reasons.

As for Jess's new friend...it looks like its pretty definite that a new girl will be there and she won't have a speaking part till episode 4

alright. here we go.
episode starts with lorelei waking up, going downstairs and luke is making breakfast. he goes to work and gives her a kiss, and talks to her stomach the way someone would if she were preganant. then lorelei wakes up. she calls rory in d.c. to have her analyze this dream. rory mentions coming home the next day. there is a festival planned. in d.c. an intern, jamie, asks paris on a date, but she doesn't realize it. rory informs her of the situation and paris wigs out. rory helps her get ready for it.
both rory and dean are coming home on the same day. rory also tries writing a letter to jess but she can't get anything out.
lorelei is freezing christopher out (he leaves a message on the machine that they erase). at the fair, rory is searching for someone, lorelei notices and asks who. she sees (rory, i mean) jess making out with the new girl. she gets upset and lorelei gets mad at her, and tells her that she's treating dean terribly and to make up her mind. rory tells her about the kiss at the wedding. dean comes up right then.
lorelei and luke have a conversation that is strained at first, but does get better by the end. rory and lorelei make up and rory decides that she needs to get over the jess thing and treat dean right.
that's a basic summary. emily and richard are in it also.

I'll add a little more info if I may. It seems that Rory never said anything to Jess before she went to DC, so he thinks she must have blown him off and wants to stay with Dean. So that is why he seems to have moved on, but I'm pretty sure that this will be just a small bump in the road for Rory and Jess. This new girl is just a diversion, someone to distract him from Rory.
I guess Dean included a large number of letters in the notebook that Rory took with her to DC, but all the letters that Rory starts to write are to Jess. (though she never finishes any)
Richard and Emily are none too happy about the Christopher/Lorelai situation.
Paris' intern date is from Princeton.

When I first read that I was like, Whoa what is going on here. It would be cute if that happened though.
