Woohoo! It sounds like the season 3 opening dream scene might actually wake Lorelai up! At least, we WISH!

*sigh* Im so spoiled! There are many many many hilarious spoilers here people! These are all courtesy of spiced, mrsvw and Jenna at forums for fans.
Summer Lovin' in Stars Hollow!
Season 3 is shaping up to be the season of love, though it may be bumpy at times.
Sweeps are usually in November (at least six episodes into the season), so any big moments between Rory/Jess or any of the others can be expected to take place then.
Jess gets a new girlfriend, named Shane. Rory confronts Jess about why he's dating Shane. He brings up the fact that she didn't communicate with him at all after their kiss, and that he's not going to wait around like Dean would.
Rory resolves to concentrate on Dean and their relationship, as she thinks that Jess has gotten over her.
Lane gets a new “man”, who is in the band that she joins.
Paris meets an intern in Washington DC.
Lorelai is getting some new love interests, but they don't seem to be long term. Kirk asks her out on a date, but she says no.
Taylor will be in an electric wheelchair in the first episode, as the actor who plays him (Michael Winters) broke his foot.
Sherry won't be a regular or recurring character, but she will be in at least one episode, where there is a baby shower. Yes, she is pregnant and staying that way, as far as spiced can tell.
Tristan won’t be coming back.

Episode 3.2 Haunted Leg Airs 9/31/02 The episode title comes from the fact that Lorelai is sick with a head cold. She'd much rather have an interesting disease if she has to be sick at all, so that she could say things like, "Oh, I have a haunted leg."
The episode starts off with another tension-filled dinner at the Gilmore's house. Richard is travelling, so it's up to Rory to ease the strain between Emily and Lorelai. She tells Lorelai to tell Emily about the mouse at the inn, which of couse ends badly.
While Rory and Lorelai are at Luke's, Shane comes into the diner where she has a one-word conversation with Jess, before they both leave. Jess walks out the door first, letting it shut behind him before Shane has a chance to get through.
Luke gives Lorelai a tallking-to about her health, after she orders soup for the third breakfast in a row. Then Dean comes in the diner to hang with the girls, even though he's already eaten and is full. They ignore that and force him to order anyhow. Rory is appreciative of Dean, who talks in full sentences.
At the inn, they are all still trying to catch the mouse. Kirk comes by and asks Lorelai for a date in two weeks, when she's not sick anymore. Later he leaves several messages on her machine, one of which contains Kirk's mother picking up on another extension and Kirk yelling at her. Lorelai ultimately turns him down, after asking Rory for a nice way to do the deed.
Rory is a senior this year, which makes Lorelai all sad about this being Rory's last first day of High School. After school, the new student government is being sworn in. Rory has asked both Lorelai and Emily to come watch, because Rory's going to give a speech. There's an issue about whether or not Lorelai will save Emily a seat.
After the ceremony, there's a casual "get-to-know-you" meeting with the presidents of each class, which Paris turns into a "This is how this year is going to be" type lecture. Although Paris is Student Body President, Francie (President of the Puffs) is Senior Class President, and lets Rory know that Paris isn't as in charge as she thinks she is. Rory then convinces Paris to humor Francies request for shorter hemlines, so that Paris will be more liked and may lead to her getting things she wants down the road.
Emily wants to have lunch with Lorelai. She even stoops to having it at Luke's, because she knows how much Lorelai likes it there. As would be imagined, Emily has a lot of trouble deciding what to eat there.
Luke and Lorelai have a chat; Luke teases Lorelei about Kirk asking her out, because Kirk asked him whether or not he has a chance with her. Lorelei made a comment earlier like, "Remember when you hated me?" They are obviously doing a lot better; when he brings up the Kirk thing, they are back to their old ways. He even sings a few bars of, "Love is in the Air".
Lorelai finally weasels out of Emily the reason that she wanted to have lunch together: Emily called and spoke to Christopher since she knows that Lorelai refuses to. Emily says that she knows Christopher doesn't love Sherry and should really be with Lorelai. Lorelai is furious that Emily butted in, and storms out of the diner.
Christopher shows up uninvited at the Gilmore Friday dinner. Lorelai is angry at Emily for this. Christopher accuses Lorelai of keeping him away from Rory, causing Rory to jump in and say that it was her own choice not to call him, because she's mad at him. She pretty much calls him a liar for saying that things would work out for them as a family.
At one point during the dinner, there is a bit about the maid. She's pretty much inept, causing Lorelai to ask Emily why she's held on to her this long. Emily says that she's doing it becuase Richard has accused her of not being able to keep a maid. Lorelai asks if Emily has ever liked one of their maids. Emily has liked one, when Lorelai was about five.

*Shane Is Jess's new girlfriend. She's a blonde sleazy/skanky kind of girl with a tattoo on her stomach, and works in a carshop. She won't be a regular, but she'll be around for at least a few episodes, starting with the first episode, where we see her making out with Jess. It's unknown if she's a totally new character or if Jess has met her before. She doesn’t speak until episode four.
Unconfirmed stuff (thanks to jennarose and catkok for bringing them over from egroups!):
Sherry (Mädchen Amick) becomes a recurring character
Edward Herrman will have a reduced role next year because he's on another show.
Shelly will also be limited to only a few episodes next season. (I think she means Sherry because her comments related to Christopher.)
Some of the beginning episodes are going to take place in DC. Rory gets a surprise visit there, and the way she reacts to it makes the visitor think that things may not work out and so starts looking around.
Lane's new boyfriend is white, which Mrs. Kim doesn't like at all. She also hates his family, and so does everyone else in Stars Hollow. Someone leads a tirade against him. (??)
As would be expected, Paris and Rory disagree as student body leaders, but band together when they must face off against the administration.
In the first few episodes, Luke is still nursing his grudge and is nasty to Lorelai.
Babette suffers from a heartbreak.
Sookie and Jackson want Lorelai to take sides in their first marital fight.
Sherry is nice to Lorelai in front of Christopher, but when he's not around lets Lorelai have it.

New spoilers! They are courtesy of mrsvw, spiced, opossum and affiliates at Fan Forums
**Episode 3.3 This episode totally revolves around college - there's no Jess. Rory and Lorelai go to dinner at a Harvard alumni's house, and Rory wows him. But she and Lorelai are also freaked out by the notion of her moving away. Lorelai and Rory arrive at the Harvard alumni's houe. They knock on the door, and the Harvard guy answers and lets them in. They talk for a few minutes in the foyer, and Rory hands the guy a manilla envelope but seems pretty nervous. They walk into a living room where they meet the guy's wife. They sit down on some couches, when the guy's children come in, wearing tennis outfits. They sit and chat with Rory for a minute, and then everyone exits the room, leaving Lorelai and Rory alone.
Lane puts out an ad for bandmates and she meets her future man, who likes her ad.
Dean and Rory discuss their future, and Dean is way more mature about the prospects than Rory expected.
The town has a meeting (Jess is not in attendance) about whether or not the old flower shop (that Luke bought) should be turned into an old-fashioned soda shop or not. Luke is against it, but is overruled and thusly becomes Taylor's landlord.

**Episode 3.4 - One Has Class And The Other One Dyes
Luke and Jess have a really great scene where Luke asks Jess about Shane, and Jess claims that he doesn't even know her last name. Luke gets mad at him and asks how he can be with a girl he doesn't care about. Jess says that Shane is the type of girl that he can have and he's tired of waiting around for a better girl to figure out what she wants, the way that Luke does (referring to Lorelai). This conversation reveals a lot about the Jess/Shane relationship, and Jess really confronts Luke about Lorelai. The spots in Lane's band are filled, but since they can only play silently in Stars Hollow (for fear of Mrs. Kim hearing them), the guys decide to rent out a space in Harvard instead. Dave wants to be in the band so he goes with them, but feels bad about leaving Lane. There are definite vibes going on between them.
When Mrs. Kim starts having Lane fill out applications with questions like "If you were to meet Jesus on the street, what three questions would you ask him?" for various religious schools, one of which is an Amish school in Nicaragua, Lane finally outright defies her mother. She dyes her hair bright red (hence the title) but then gets freaked out and sends Rory to pick out black hair dye. When she goes to pick up the dye, Rory runs into Shane, who works there. Shane is chatting on the phone with Jess, and Rory gets pissy and makes Shane get off the phone to help her.
Lorelai and Luke are guest speakers at Stars Hollow High school, talking running their own successful businesses. Before they leave, Lorelai makes Luke go change so that he'll look better for the lecture, and while waiting she has a confrontation with Jess when she hears a noise coming from his closet and it's revealed that he's been hiding Shane in there.
Lorelai is excited for their guest job while Luke is dreading it, but their feelings are reversed by the end of the experience. All the girls just ask Lorelai about how she got pregnant when she was young.
