"It was love at first sight for Tristan when he saw Rory. He walked into class after being away for awhile due to his grandfather's death and stared at Rory with that certain gleam in his eye, making it obvious that he liked her and making Rory very uncomfortable.
(Tristan leans forward to talk to his friend in the seat in front of him) TRISTAN: Who's that?
GUY: New girl.

For Rory, it was hate at first sight. Tristan teased her mercilessly. He called her Mary which annoyed her to no end, but really it was meant as a form of flirtation that did not work on the brainy Rory.
TRISTAN: Bye Mary. (he walks off)
RORY: It's Rory.

Tristan continued to annoy Rory but his true feelings seeped through the cracks and were made obvious to everyone but Rory herself. Rory thought that all Tristan wanted was to make her another girl on his list when really he had true feelings for her.

One humourous moment in class occurred when Tristan got into trouble for continually staring at Rory.

CALDECOTT: The debate. Does it sound like fun?
TRISTAN: Yes, it does.
CALDECOTT: It does, doesn’t it Mr. Dugray?
TRISTAN: Oh, it absolutely does Ms. Caldecott.
CALDECOTT: More fun than staring at Miss Gilmore’s ear?
TRISTAN: Yes Ms. Caldecott.

Rory and Tristan finally kissed the night that she broke up with Dean. She was upset and Tristan was as well from breaking up with his bimbo girlfriend Summer. They found solace in one another.

Rory regretted the kiss but Tristan didn't. When they were stuck together in a school project, Rory tried to set Tristan up with Paris (who had always loved him from afar). Tristan didn't feel the chemistry, he knew it was Rory he wanted.
TRISTAN: Hey, I’m sorry Paris is upset ok? But is it better that I keep dating her even thought I like somebody else?
RORY: Oh.
TRISTAN: Yeah.
RORY: I didn’t realize. So...you’re still not over Summer huh?
TRISTAN: [semi-sarcastically] Yeah, I’m not over Summer yet. [leaves, Rory looks confused or feels bad for him]"--Ophelia. She's a member here, borrowed from her wonderful site wannabewithyou.mirrorz.com/(Sorry for not asking first Ophelia, but I at least linked you back! I didnt have time to ask, I just loved it so much I had to post! Lol.) This brought me to really consider the amount of focus in the show on Tristan and Rory. Although the focus is small, it shows the progression in Tristans feelings for Rory. Yes, it starts out as a conquest, to fill his Playboy lifestyle, but slowly, his infatuation is clear, especially in the ear scene, which I love by the way! Lol, although, you see the care in his eyes when he and Rory kiss. Id like to bring this up as well. When Rory starts crying after they kiss he is immediately worried, he voices his concern for her. Also, when they speak about the kiss, Rory says shes confused. However, they agree the kiss meant nothing. If Rory's confused, it meant something to her. Also, its clear Tristan enjoyed the kiss and doesnt regret it, although he does regret the timing.

TRISTAN: Yeah, but that's the beauty of it. No one would expect her to cry.
DEAN: I would.
TRISTAN: You know, funny you should say that…

I love this scene. Tristan displays everything I have come to know and love. I know you narcos hate it, but ha! Lol, ok that was mean, Im sorry. Anyways, he displays his absolute wit, the undeniable charm, the boyishness to stir up trouble. Hes so damn cute! Lol.

The change in Tristan's feelings towards Rory is somewhat admirable as well. Even though he doesn't deal with it in exactly the best way, he is trying to overcome years of his playboy attitude just for her. She truely is bringing out the best in him, changing him for the better. His humour and wit rivals her own. In that scene in Run Away, he is just trying to have some fun, immaturely, but it is obvious that he would never tell because he promised Rory. Dean also was somewhat immature, insisting that he watch her rehearse, even when she tried so hard to convince him not to come. He clearly doesn't trust her enough to even rehearse some scenes with another guy so he has to be there to watch over her.

as for the whole staring scene, would Tristan risk being embarrassed in front of the entire class for just anyone? He really does have feelings for her if he continues to stare, even when the teacher calls him on it.


Here are also a few visual aids that show the comfort and ease between the two once they fall into a good rhythm. Rory brings true, genuine smiles from Tristan, and looks happy doing so.

And even when hes asked to stop he doesnt, but still maintains his calm, collected nature. He has longing in his eyes, and its adorable. Im on a lyric search for Trory songs. No matter what they're talking about, yelling about, fighting about, there is a constant passion between them. Tristan is lacking things in life that Rory is overflowing with. They're both afraid to show their feelings because they've both never had something like this happen to them before. It's hard for them to be completely nice to one another, because their mind shuts down around each other, and they're reduced to bickering. Sexual tension is what it all comes down to, and they both have something one another needs.

I'm not a Trory. I have a strong passion for Dean. And I'm incredibly jealous of Rory. But I do like to read Trory stories. Some of the are so sweet. I don't write Trories. I only write R/D, but reading them can be refreshing.

Why not them? It's TV. And if ASP is attempting to have any small piece of reality in the show, she would realize that most couples from high school don't stay together forever. Rory's young; she needs to date other guys. Besides, why not put Rory with a guy who could change (for the better) because of her? Why not put Rory with a guy who challenges her and with whom she shares so much chemistry? There's too much tension, witty conversations, possibility, and potential to ignore, in my opinion. So why not Rory and Tristan?

Why them? A good and logical question and I have two words to answer that: sexual tensions. Now I know many Trories get caught up in the character of Tristan that all the fanfics make him out to be; lonely, sad, deeply in love with Rory. But I mean seriously, we know nothing about him from the show and so this is why I like the whole Trory thing: banter, tensions, and she did kiss him back. And so to end all I have to say is you can't deny the chemistry

For me Dean is just a stupid boy, whose ego is bigger than Paris'. He thinks Rory should be only with him and is very "machista". But there is Tristan, who is sweet and kind but doesn't know how to show it to that incredible girl he met. Just like Paris said to Rory "You don't know him". He acts like a jerk with Rory because he want her to see him. She loves him too it's just she doesn't realise that. It's like Luke and Lorelai. True Love!

What I love about Rory and Tristan, (besides the previously mentioned stuff), is what she brings out in him. The fact that she makes him feel real emotions. I love that!

Rory and Tristan are destined to be together. They have chemistry very similar to the Luke and Lorelai relationship and everyone knows that they have chemistry too and will end up together. The fact that Rory brings out another side to Tristan that is so incredibly sexy, sweet, and makes him into the cutist, most perfect boy is proof that there is something there. The kiss, their final scene, everything will come together eventually.

He challenges her...something Dean doesn't do. Their witty quarrels is what brings the passion into their lives. Her and Dean are just too sweet towards eachother and too comfortable with eachother. NO PASSION IS NO GOOD! Dean is the boy that she has to go through to realize the guy she really wants...Tristan. Sad but true. It also helps that Tristan is absolutly gorgeous.
