I was baptized when I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart. and yes, Mary was a wonderful woman, but in any respect, she was still JUST human. You can not pray to humans. You believe the Bible right?(and up there i said predacessor i meant mediator) well I Timothy 2:4-6 says....... Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time..........That says that there is ONE mediator between God and man, Jesus. Which means praying to Mary does no good. Confessing to priests doesnt either. Only God can forgive your sins, and it must be done through Jesus Christ.

I know. I think Mary was a wonderful woman, but worshipping the Virgin Mary doesnt make much sense to me. ~*Susie*

Thats why confirmation exists. Baptism has become your parents pledging that they will raise you in a Christian manner to prepare you to welcome Christ into your heart. ~*Susie*

Ohhhhh at our church........Dedication is where you dedicated the baby to God and say that you will raise it in a Godly manner and Baptism is where you SHOW people that you have accepted Christ into your heart

See, the idea of confirmation is that if you've been baptized by your parents, that you reaffirm the pledges they made on your behalf in your own heart. But I never got confirmed because I decided to be baptized. ~*Susie*

To me, Confirmation is just that, a confirmation, you accept Christ into your heart and you are conformed. We don't have ceremonies for it, because it happens when you get saved, so yeah. and that's in a way what baptism is for us, to say that I HAVE BEEN conformed and I want you to know, so I will be baptized so everyone can see that I believe in Christ, that he died for me and rose again, saved me from sin, and have accepted him in my heart I got saved when I was about 6 Best decision of my ENTIRE life

[glow=limegreen,2,300]And i dont think confirmation is stupid either. because in my religion along with catholicism i think, people are baptised when they are really young, and so they have promised to be a part of the christian faith before they can even think clearly for themself, and confirmation is when you make a conscious decision to believe in god adn jesus. well i think catholics might have to be confirmed at a certain age, but in my religion, you can be confirmed whenever, when youre 30 if you want. [/glow] but see the practice of confirmation is so retarded the way especially at my parish is soooo stupid. i go through 9 years of catholic education and they make me do these like 10 hours of confirmation classes and it just basically says "Your 9 years of religion classes mean nothing now" it was really stupid. And basically, i am 15 yrs old i decided for myself a long time ago wether i am a catholic or not. ON the contrary, at 15 i dont think ppl have really decided cuz they arent out of their parents care yet....even if i didnt want to be catholic, my parents still make me go to church. SO i dont have a choice. My parents made me do confirmation, but it was basically my choice. I decided a long time ago for myself that i believe in god and all religious things the church teaches me. the confirmation program is basically parish kids and ccd kids in fact you prolly have to be one of the two to do it, therefore every kid has had many years of religion classes. Why do they insist you take stupid classes that ppl dont want to go to....there has got to be another way cuz the church is basically telling me that my 9 years of religion classes dont matter anymore, i need a whole new set of instruction about the same things. I just dont like it cause of the boringness and of the repetity (repetitiveness?)

i was on the phone when i wrote that so i dont think it came out too good.
I believe in being confirmed because i need to confirm the decision my parents made for me. But i also agree with susular that being forced to do it defeats the purpose. THe idea of confirmation is right, but i dont think the execution, well in my area, is good.
About Mary--i dont worship her, but i do pray to her. I dont study the bible or even remember many passages, so thats all news to me sort of. THat sounded wierd but oh well. On the other hand, i do pray to Mary because obviously she was more than other humans. She was born without sin (oh another point of baptism as a baby you are cleansed of original sin) she conceived BY THE HOLY SPIRIT (how many ppl can tell you that?) and then she went to heaven, body and spirit. Sure she was human, but then again so was Jesus. I agree wholeheartedly that yo only "worship" god and jesus, but i think a prayer to mary carries a lot of weight in heaven. And what about the litany of saints? "(St. name here) Pray for us" and then "All you holy men and women pray for us" ALSO those bible writers were only human---they know as much as we do. So we dont know how much weight Mary's prayer carries in heaven, but neither do the bible writers who wrote all the stuff.
