Yeah. I guess in the respect Christianity is all similar. As in the whole Messiah, death, ressurection things, but other than that, theres a lot they dont agree on. Especially in more current circumstances. Sexual preference, disease, abortion, etc, etc, etc... It all depends on the liberal-ness[thats so not a word] of the church. Catholicism is way more serious than Methodism, but they're both Christian. Also, every church has a different history. And the Catholic church has a different history than every church, because its been around for so much longer. I mean, all Christian religions basically stemmed from the Catholic church, and then they changed the things they didnt like or agree with about Catholicism. ~*Susie*

yeah catholicism is like the original christian faith, and then people were unhappy so they branched away and formed other denominations. but yeah all christians believe that there is one god, and that jesus is the son of god.

susie you're catholic? you guys should read this article in the ym with michelle branch on it, it's all about the morman faith (wehich is christian for those who dont know.) but their like super strict also. like you cant get tatoos or more than one peircing in your ear, and men at like 18 or so have to go on a mission trip and no one can have any contact with them and stuff. it's just weird.

Nope, Im nowhere close to Catholic. I just have a fair number of Catholic friends. Im Methodist. My TA from World History this year was Mormon, and since he graduated hes going on his Mormon mission trip this summer. I live in the biggest concentrated area of Mormons, or one of the biggest. The Mormon population here has almost past Salt Lake City, Utah. There are a lot of other Christian faiths that dont like tattoos either, they feel that your body is a temple to God, and that by putting things in or on your body like that, its destroying your body. I mean, I dont know much about Mormon faith, but I know that they're a dry faith [meaning that alcohol isn't permitted], and I think thats the reason why. ~*Susie*

[glow=limegreen,2,300]yeah they cant have alccohol or curse, and i know cursing is frowned upon in other religions, but i mean they cant do it at all. and they have a leader, kinda like how the catholics have a pope but not exactly. and wow susie, almost past salt lake city, thats alot. so youre methodist. when i first came here i went to a methodist church for like a year. have you ever heard of episcopalians? theyre anglican. and when i say we're cloase to catholic, i mean really close. our services are almost the exact replica. carole:bounce:[/glow]

well see like baptist isnt really a religion it's kinda different im kinda more like just go by the Bible and thats it. I don't wanna like offend anyone, I just dont think worshipping mary is ok. She was just a normal human that was blessed by God to have Jesus Christ. And the confessions, I just dont believe that either because in the Bible is says the only predecessar(totally spelled wrong) between God and man is Jesus Christ, it doesnt say mary and it doesnt say the priest. so yeah thats how i feel, im not EXACTLY baptist, I'm just a Christian that believes the Bible, not man written rules or religion.

wow dont get you in a convo with my grandma (well she died last year so you couldnt but not the point) my grandma believed FIERCELY in the blessed mother i mean it was really remarkable her name was mary too and i took mary as my confirmation name (a stupid thing, i think...confirmation i mean not mary) for my grandma and because she believed in the blessed mother so much and see my grandma was not super religious i mean she went to church and believed in god but the way she believe in mary and all it was amazing...
i dont agree with some things in the catholic church but for the most part im cool with it. I in no way shape or form believe abortion is right, but i am not super conservative in religiousness. I am not really liberal either. I guess i just havent hit a spot in my life where my belief or feeling about something collides head on with the church's belief

I dont think confirmation is stupid. I think its stupid when children are forced to be confirmed by their parents. I dont agree with confessional at all, and I dont really agree with the idea of the pope either, I could so never be Catholic. Im not going to even getting into discussing the abortion thing. I have yet to ever discuss it with someone without someone feeling offended, so thats something I just avoid talking about. ~*Susie*

[glow=limegreen,2,300]mary was just an ordinary person but i mean c'mon nikki think how great she must have been, i mean god chose her out of all the people in the whole world to give birth to his son, i dont think he just drew names from a hat. i think she deserves a great deal of respect. . .but not worship, my catholic friends said they dont really worship her, they just pray to her at times, and i dont think theres really anything wrong with that. And i dont think confirmation is stupid either. because in my religion along with catholicism i think, people are baptised when they are really young, and so they have promised to be a part of the christian faith before they can even think clearly for themself, and confirmation is when you make a conscious decision to believe in god adn jesus. well i think catholics might have to be confirmed at a certain age, but in my religion, you can be confirmed whenever, when youre 30 if you want. and abortion, youre right susie is an extremely touchy topic, becuase people's beleifs are strong and not easily swayed. but ok. . .sorry that was long. carole:jump:[/glow]

Thats alright, posting something long isnt a big deal. It happens, I dont mind. See, for me, I was never confirmed because my mom decided that she didnt want to baptize me until I was at an age where accepting God into my life mattered to me, and where I knew what I was agreeing to, etc... If people want to baptize their children when they are young, they should make sure than confirmation is a choice for their children. Thats just what I think. ~*Susie*
