"ok." Jess led the way to the table. "I wonder where Luke is." Jess glanced around. "I'll be right back." Jess left Paris at the table headed behind the counter and brought back a menu.

Jess handed Paris the menu. And sat down across from her at the table. "So, any idea what you want?" A second passed... "Tea, that's right." Jess said getting up suddenly. "I'll go put some water up for that...herbal was it?"

He quickly filled the kettle with water and pulled out a tea bag and placed it in a mug. "You know, I might be out of line, but you look like the veggie burger kinda girl." Jess added smiling

"Well seeing how Luke's not here," Jess said doing a quick sweep of the diner with his eyes, "I guess I'll make that burger up special, just for you."
Jess went back into the kitchen, and outside in the dining area there could be heard a loud bang, followed by a yelp...then the tea kettle started hissing... Jess rushed out and turned off the flame, poured the water into the mug then rushed back into the kitchen.
After a few more minutes Jess came out with the burger displayed nicely on a plate and placed it in front of Paris. Then he went back got the tea and brought that to her as well...then he slid down into the chair opposite her. "Whew." he said letting out a sigh of relief.

(sorry, I rewrote part of it, and added to it. So hopefully it makes more sense now. But the general idea is Paris ordered a burger, and for some reason Luke isn't around to make it...so Jess is trying to prepare her meal, and let's just say he's making a really big mess in the kitchen)

"Well I aim to please." Jess smiled. Just then Luke came down the stairs and walked into the kitchen.
"Jess." Luke bellowed.
"What?" Jess asked, never taking his eyes off of Paris.
"Have you seen the kitchen? It's a mess, do you have any idea how it got that way?" Luke demanded as he walked toward Jess and Paris.
"Must have been some of those diner vandalists that they were talking about on the news." Jess replied sarcastically.
Luke glanced at Paris and Jess sitting alone at the table. "I'll deal with you later," Luke said and walked off.
"Bye uncle Luke." Jess replied. Knowing that Luke hated the whole "uncle" thing.
"See I told you, I'm here to make life more exciting." Jess said to Paris.
