my fan fic name is trorychic
i am writing this story, it is a prequel to my one story "The New Guy" but im not sure if i like it. I have only written a little so fa.r let me knoe what you think?
thanks!
Summary: Jinx Danes and Tristan Dugray never thought they would get together. He was best friends with her older sister Rory and had once been in love with her. He was 20, she was 15. He was in college, she was in high school. Everyone said it wouldn’t last. But you can’t stop true love.
AN: This takes place prior to ‘The New Guy’. I might eventually do a sequel to it, but I thought a prequel might be nice.

“Dugray!”
Tristan Dugray turned lazily around and saw his best friend, Lorelai Leigh Gilmore, walking toward him.
“Hey, Gilmore,” He said as she reached him and they continued walking through a courtyard at Yale.
“Coming home with me this weekend?” Rory asked.
“Sure. What’s the occasion?” Tristan replied. He usually went home with Rory for special occasions. His family was never home, and as far back as their days at Chilton, Tristan was a regular figure in the Gilmore Danes home.
“No occasion. We have a long weekend, and Mom says Jinx has been asking when we’re coming home. I haven’t been home in a few weeks, and I think I should go check in. And of course, you are welcome to come sleep in my house and eat Luke’s food.” Rory said.
“We all know that’s what I’m good for.” Tristan said with a smile.
“Meet me at my dorm tomorrow at 5. We have to be in Hartford for Friday night dinner.” Rory said with a wave as she headed off down a hallway to her next class.
Tristan just smiled and headed off to his next class.

Rory walked into her dorm room that night and ditched her books. Then she grabbed her suitcase and began to pack for the long weekend in Stars Hollow.
“Hey Gilmore, you’re going home this weekend?” Paris asked, standing in the door way of Rory’s room.
“Yup.” Rory said, folding a shirt.
“Taking your shadow with you?”
“Yes, Tristan is coming.”
“I’m not sure I’ll ever quite get his strange infatuation with your family.” Paris said, plopping down onto Rory’s desk chair.
“It’s not a strange infatuation, Paris. Tris practically grew up with my family. He’s like one of us.” Rory said as she walked out of her room into the bathroom.
“I know, I know. His home life sucked. Believe me, he and I are in the same boat for that one. But you two hated each other in elementary school. I’m not sure I’ll ever get where it turned around.”
“I think Tristan and I will always have a love hate relationship. We hated, then my grandparents invited him over, then he loved, and then we lovehated as best friends.” Rory said, entering the room again with a cosmetic bag. “It’s simple, really. Tristan is my best friend. He has been since like 6th grade. I mean, my little brother was a baby when Tristan started coming to our house all the time. Bonds were made. He’s part of the family.”
“Ok, I get it I get it.” Paris stood and threw her hands up in mock surrender. “I’m going to laugh one day, though, when he marries your sister or something.”
“So will I, Paris.” Rory said with a disbelieving smirk.

“So how’s everything at home? I talked to Jack the other night, and he sounded excited for football practice. And Meg emailed me, asking how the mind of a guy works.” Tristan laughed as he loaded his stuff into Rory’s trunk.
“Jack is beyond excited for football practice to start. And if it’s possible, Luke is more excited than Jack. I think he almost gave up hope, after 3 uncoordinated girls, of ever having an athletic boy.” Rory said as she pulled cautiously out of the parking lot.
“Oh come on, Grandma, step on the gas.” Tristan said, exaggeratedly flopping his head back to stare at the ceiling.
“Shut it, Triscuit. So what’s this about my little sister asking about the male mind?” Rory said, merging onto the highway as Tristan flipped radio stations.
He gave a chuckle. “Yeah, apparently there is this guy at school who she ‘thinks is really cute’ and ‘thinks totally likes her’.”
“My God. Tristan, do you realize that Meg is almost 12? I can’t believe she’s getting so old.”
“Are you serious?” Tristan said, looking shocked. “Man, I would have placed her at like 14 or 15!”
“Tris, Jinx is 15.”
“Man, I need to get my dates straight. If I had known the little runt was only 11, I wouldn’t have given her any advice.”
“Oh, and what did you tell her?”
Tristan’s eyes went skyward, in an attempt to look innocent, and he quickly changed the subject. “So Gilmore, how ‘bout them O’s?”
“Oh Tristan.” Rory said with a giggle and a sigh.

“Honey, I’m home.” Rory called as the maid opened the door of the Gilmore Mansion.
As Tristan helped her out of her peacoat, Emily entered the foyer.
“Rory, Tristan. So good to see you. Maria, please take their coats.” Emily said as the maid nervously grabbed the coats from Tristan.
“Come in, come in. Your mother and Luke and the children are already here and are talking with your grandfather.” Emily said, leading them into the living room.
“Hey Hon.” Lorelai said, taking a sip of her drink. She stood up and gave Rory a hug.
“Hey Lor.” Tristan said when she moved on to him.
Rory looked around the room, but only saw Luke and Lorelai. “Where’s everyone else?”
“While Mom was answering the door, they escaped, never to be seen again.” Lorelai said dramatically.
“They went to Richard’s study to find a book.” Luke said.
“Thanks Luke.” Rory said, stepping over to give him a hug.
“Hey kid, we’ve missed you.” He said.
“Rory! Tristan!” Rory turned to see her 9 year old brother, Jack, launching himself into her arms.
“Jacks! Jinxie, Meg!” Rory and Tristan hugged her sisters and brother in one big hug.
Luke, Lorelai, Emily, and Richard watched the 4 siblings and the honorary big brother with smiles on their faces.
After a few more hugs, everyone settled down with drinks and then moved into the dining room.
“So Rory, how’s school?”
“Pretty good. Grandpa, I have some issues of the Yale Daily News for you. I’ve written some feature pieces for them.”
“That’s wonderful, Rory. One day, we will see your name in the byline on the front page of the New York Times.” Richard boasted proudly.
“Think big, Grandpa.” Rory said with an embarrassed smile.
“And Tristan, dear, how is school going for you?” Emily asked, turning towards the blonde boy.
“It’s going fine, Emily, thank you for asking.” Tristan said.
“Tristan would know, actually, if he ever went to class.” Rory said with an evil little smirk.
He shot her a look. “Thanks a million, Ror.”
Lorelai laughed at the banter she was accustomed to.
“Tristan, dear, you really should take advantage of this lovely education that your parents are paying for.” Emily said disapprovingly.
Tristan just nodded politely and muttered out of the side of his mouth “You’ll pay later, Gilmore.”
“Empty threats, Dugray.”
