HEY GUYS!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THOSE WHO CELEBRATE!!!!! did you guys all have a good christmas?  mine was descent....i got good presents, but my grandma died in may and she wasnt here so that was REALLY wierd How are your christmas/winter breaks going? I am sooo freakin busy. On fri, my friend had a sleepover for christmas, and we had a BLAST!!! we made fun of our teachers so much our sides and stomachs hurt.....it was great. Ands then on sat. i had to clean ALL DAY cuz my great aunt and uncle and their daughter, my cousin janet, her husband chris and my cousins eric and corinne were coming over on sundayt. SO that is what i did on sunday. I was gonna go ice skating cuz my school rented this big outdoor ice rink so we got the proceeds, but i didnt get there. ON monday, i didnt do much...this is vacation!!! but i did go shopping with my bro and his friend, whichc was really fun. yesty was fun, i went to the cemetery to put a wreath on my great grandma and grandpas grave, and we noticed my great aunt didnt have anything, so that was an adventure trying to find SOMETHIGN to put on it. LOL and hten i had ot go out and get my bro a gift sop my dad and i went out to TARGET!!!!!! I LOVE TARGET!!! lol target has everything!!! and i got him blank cd's, but they are colored, and i know he wont us the pink ones, so it was kinda for me too. And that night, i went to a family friends house, who also happens to be the aunt of my best friend, so we had a ton of fun there. And then i had to go serve midnight mass. And then we came home,. opened our new ornaments, and went to sleep. And we slept later than ever this year, 8, cuz we didnt go to sleep til lik 2! lol. And hten on sat. i was sposed to go see maid in manhatten, but i am now going skiing with my brother and then on sunday i am going to the ocean with my friend, cuz she has a condo, for new years. So i am pretty busy! i hope to be around as much as i can, but tomorrow and fri. are still unknowns!!! |

Wow Abby... that was alot! And I read it all and it sounds awesome!! Well except for the fact that you grandma wasn't there for Christmas... I'm so sorry, it must be hard for you...
My Vacation's been going great...
On Friday I can't remember what I did because my memory is just like that... Oh Right! We had a half-day so a bunch of us went over to a friend's house, ordered pizza and watched movies! Then on Saturday I went shopping with some friends, met some friends that I hadn't seen in 3-6 years and had lunch with some other friends. Lol and then me and my mom went christmas shopping... then gift delivering to all our relatives houses and had dinner at my cousin's house. On Sunday I went skating at Nathan Phillip's Square with a whole lot of people for my friend's 16 birthday.. which was fun because I hadn't skated in a few years and I got to realize that I'm not as good as I thought I was. Then we went around Eaton's Centre (mall) and on the subway scaring random people by being overly perky and then back to her place for dinner. The next day one of my friends came over and we walked to the video store in a blizzard and then when we got there they wouldn't let us rent video's cuz we didn't have ID with our address on it so we had to walk back in the snow. So we wrote big messages in people's driveways and were up to our thighs in wet snow when we got home. Then we just did random things until my parents got home and we went laser tagging with another friend and her brother/ friends. That was tiring... running around. Then we got to rogers, rented all the movies and watched four of them till 6 in the morning while pigging out on junk and Woody's Ice, woke up at 12, had breakfast, then watched the other three movies... After that me and my dad went on a crazy last minute shopping spree to find more presents for my mom... And I got myself a MD player... Now it's Christmas morning, all the presents are opened and reading Abby's little recount made me want to write my own and now I'm late for getting ready for our Christmas lunch and then Christmas dinner so I think that I'll continue this later! Wow that was some run on sentence... anyhoo... hope you have a great Christmas guys!

I am totally loving my winter break... it is sooooo awesome to just be able to hang out in pajamas like all day when I feel like it. I just totally love Christmas!!!! The only bad thing right now is that my friend's mom is still really sick... but she's slowly getting a little better... well, maybe anyways... But we're all trying to forget it at least for today.
Alright, I'd write more of a detailed description of my Christmas, but I wanna post some more! hehe

lol glad all your holidays are going good. and to add to mine, i get to go down the ocean on sun. with my brothers friends, who i really like. He is sooo nice, and the ppl i am going with are leaving on fri. And like my bestfriends older sister went out with my bro for 2 years, and so jimmy is in their group and all, so he is taking me down and i am super psyched

[glow=red,2,300] Have fun fighting through mobs of people Ruby. Lol. Lets see, my winter break so far. We took our last finals on Thursday, and we had a half day of school. I stuck around to find out my math grade, and so a couple of my friends in my math class and I were fooling around, like we always do. Then a couple of my other friends and I walked halfway to the movie theater, pulled my mom out of work and made her drive us the other half. We couldnt decide on a movie, so we went and had lunch and then ended up watching My Big Fat Greek Wedding. That was a really cute movie. Then Friday, I just lounged. Perfect way to kick off winter break. Sleep in and watch tv. Then Saturday, I was all over town shopping. Sunday, I went to church, wrapped presents and made dinner. Monday, I went shopping with my dad. Then Tuesday, I spent the afternoon with my mom and sister and we went to church. Then I spent yesterday with my dad. We opened presents and had Christmas dinner. Right now, Im waiting for a friend to come over. We wanted to do something, but we didnt feel like fighting people at the mall, and didnt feel like getting stared at as "those rowdy teenagers" at the movies. So we're chillin' here. Lol.

lol yeah i was spoed to go out today but my friend couldnt make it, so we ended up doin nothing, but tomorrow i hafta babysit during the dy, whihc sorta sucks a little, cuz i'll get my muchneeded money, but i wanted to go over my friends and say goodby to everyone

Ruby, what is boxing day...because you say it sucks that it doesn't exist in America and while i know what boxing day is or at least what it used to be it seems that we may have different def's.
Here's mine:
Boxing Day was Christmas for servants in older days or even still today for those rich people that have tons of servants. The reason for this was that the servants had to cook and slave all day on xmas and had no time to spend with their families so on the 26th( Boxing Day) they'd celebrate Christmas. They would get the day off. I don't know why its called boxing day but that's why they have it.

[glow=red,2,300] Basically, what I know about Boxing Day is that in households, especially English ones, lower class people got presents on Christmas. Basically second hand stuff from the upper class, or presents they didnt want. This is only what Ive heard though.

Well those are all the start of Boxing Day, true origin...
But now, in Canada, Boxing Day is a huge shopping event, all the stores have major sales to clear out inventory.... Mobs of people on shopping malls, all screaming, grabbing and pushing (not to mention lining up to get it, to try on and to pay) but it's loads of fun.
