private or public

hey guys=------dumb thread, but do you go to private or public school---which do you think is better?

I go to a public school, but a program I'm in is not completely public. You know, it's for high-achievers only, and there's a certain GPA and test scores you have to have, and even then people are selected through which ever way they use now. So it's not completely public. But that's not my whole school. So never mind.

Anyway, my school's public, and I know it's a fairly high-rated school in the nation. But that doesn't make public school better or worse.

I think what determines which is better is by what you've attended and by what standards you have. If the teachers are better at a public school, then I'd be more likely to say that public school is better, or vice versa. But if you hate your peers, you might say the other type is better. I know someone who went to private school, hated it, and finally convinced her parents to let her go to a public school, and she loves it there.

Both types of school systems have its advantages and disadvantages. It's great the public schools are available to everyone, but the quality of the actual building and maybe even teachers sometimes and its budget makes the system a little less fabulous. Private schools are great sometimes if you're going to a prep school to try and get completely prepared for college or something, but you do have to pay and sometimes the school could be snobby.

Anyway, I'm not going to say which is better because without experiencing both, I can't give a fair judgement. All I can fairly say is that since 4th grade, my schools have been great -- top of the line of public schools.

I go to Public School. It's not a bad school, but it's not a great school either. It's just you go, you work, you leave. I mean, there's a fight going on everyday after school...LOL. But, if you don't get involoved, everythings okay.

I go to a private school (I just answered this question in a different thread!).  I like it a lot, but I have always gone to a private school and have never experienced what it would be like to be in public.  It's a pretty nice school.  When I talk to some of my friends that go to public school about what I have been doing in school they say it seems a lot harder than what they are doing.  I don't think you could say if public or private is better because every school and every class is totally different.

I go to a public school. Ive been in public school since kindergarten and I wouldnt have it any different. I havent been in the top line of schools per say, but my highschool is great. And although a private school may be more "educational" for me, but I like public school. Its nice and I know lotsa people at my school so its great. I could do private school just fine, I dont know public school has an appeal to me. Maybe Im just wierd.

I go to a public school. I think it would be cool to go to a private school. There aren't any where I live though.

i was from a private school ever since kindergaten. i cant judge and say which of the two is better cus ive never been to a public sch. but from what i notice, people from public school dont get pressurised much and they still do well and in private sch, its really stressing and some end up not doing well either. its bonkers. well, thats Singapore.

but here, whether ur in a private or public sch, u have to be in a uniform.

and either way, ull still get a good education and go on.

i went to a private school since first grade, but this year, for high school, i'm going to a public school

i think both schools are fairly good, i really miss the private school i was suppose to go to but hey i deal and the public school isn't that bad. although i do think that private schools make you try to achieve better/more. i'm the kind of person that i will always be on the bottom partion of the best. back in my private school, we needed a 93 to get an A, so i would get grades from 94 to 96, now in the public school to get an A its from 90 and above, so i end up getting grades from 91 to 95....really stupid, i know
