Heart

Everyone told me no,
I shouldn't even try.
You're bad new from the start,
to me you were just a guy.
But I didn't listen to my heart,
I let you go away.
And then you came back,
telling me you knew you had to stay.
So there we sat together,
just you and I forever.
Then you said, You know,
I'm not just any guy.
You knew you had my heart,
so why should I even try.

*Mirror*
As I stare into the mirror,
The reflection is not me,
But a shy, unhappy figure,
That may never be free.
As I look into her eyes,
They are sad and afraid,
And scared to be closed,
For her life may fade.
As I gaze into her heart,
It is empty and alone,
Like a nonexistent soul,
That no one has known.
As I glance into her mind,
I do not sense thought,
But a loneliness beyond me,
That is too powerful to be fought.
