Ummm... I don't know if this has been resolved, but is this it?
DEAN: Yeah, like, if you're eating pizza with them and Lorelai decides that the pepperoni is angry at the mushrooms because the mushrooms have an attitude and then she holds up a pepperoni and the pepperoni asks for your opinion...don't just laugh. Answer the pepperoni.
It's from Red Light on the Wedding Night

I loved that Avocado quote too, so funny, so Lorelai ;D I don't get a lot of referencs either, mostly because I'm not from the States, so when Lorelai said that Rory was out like Farrah on Letterman, I went like: HUH?? and also when they were imitating French girls in "The Lorelai's first day at Yale" (which was so funny btw!!) I didn't get what Rory meant when she was saying: "We enshue your quaint double entendre for the appealing lasciviousness of the entendre single" WHAT?? what does "entendre" mean? esp as a noun.... *hmmm* help, anyone? *g*

a double entendre is when there is a double meaning attached to it, that is in risque meaning.
i don't remember hearing that quote but um...it probably means that what the person was saying wasn't dirty.

I believe this is the exact avocado quote: "Since when do you not like avocado?" - Emily. "Since the day I said 'Gross! What's this?' And you said 'Avocado.'" - Lorelai.
