(works for me, but I'm not sure what the "rules" are exactly, just thinking this would be easier if more people were participating in the RPG, oh well randomness. Shutting up...now returning to the current scenario)
"Rory?" Jess said unemotionally. Then he turned toward Tristan but still speaking to Rory "You'll be late. You should go."

Tristan stood there looking. Rory looked over and saw his annoyed expression and smiled. Jess had no idea what was going on.
(haha im not rory so i cant talk for her so shes just gunna have to be quiet)

Jess glanced at Rory and whispered "You're doing this just to piss him off, aren't you." She didn't say anything but smiled. Jess moved a little closer to Rory and gave Tristan a "she's mine, you may leave now" look

"I don't think she wants to go with you." Jess said to Tristan, but never taking his eyes off of Rory. "Maybe you should go on and chop chop, you wouldn't want to be tardy..." he added sarcastically.

Rory shook her head no. She just stood there. She was stubborn. She got it from her mom. She wouldn't move.

"Oh and I suppose you do." Jess said taking a step away from Rory and toward Tristan. Rory put her hand out to stop him but he brushed past.
(sorry if this is getting to roundabout of a conflict...let me know...I can always tune it down a bit...)
