Dont worry, Maria, I sympathize. Come on, the three Canadians people know best are Avril Lavigne, Tom Green, and Pam Anderson. Now that says great things about my country. ~*Susie*

I dont think people associate actors and stuff with the US since Hollywood is American, and stuff like that. But yeah. People associate other things with America. I guess I would say I relate a lot of things with the US. Ummm - arrogance, power, control, George W. Bush, poor decisions, influence. I guess a lot of my views come from living in the US, and being Canadian. I will say something though, as much as I like living in the US, I have to state [and agree sometimes] that America is probably one of the least liked countries, overall. ~*Susie* My PS - Its not an insulting thing, I promise! I love the US, and I love the people here, theres just something from the reputation I just cant shake. Sorry to offend anyone if I do, but you guys asked.

that's hialrious Maria! What about crocodile dundee? lol ::shudder::
Think about positive Aussie people! Um...Nicole Kidman, Heath Ledger, Naomi Watts, Elle Macpherson. I'd rather people think of them than Steve Irwin when they think about Australia!
Btw Susie, I agree with you. Unfortunately for you guys not very many people around here have a positive view of America, especially since the war...

Yeah i guess i can understand that. I am a born and bred american (north american) and i love my country. I also know that if i were from another country, i wouldnt love it like i do. It's like during a sports game, i will love the team i am on if i am the best, but the teams we beat wont be so fond of us.

I live in America and have my entire life so it's nice to hear outside views of my country! having not experienced any other life i can in no way say america is the best to live and blah blah, but i liek it here (i'd love to travel though!) i support our president i don't really care about politics, though, it's all too depressing, the news, the scandals, every thing! i am perfectly content watching gilmore s and going to church, school, and the mall. lol

Well at least America is the richest and most powerful country in the world. Yet, we are so rich that most of the people are lazy. Have you seen Japanese people(just for reference, i LOVE LOVE LOVE Japan, the ppl, the anime, the everything lol i wanna visit it but anyways.......) Japanese people are such hard workers, the attend school a lot, make great anime, create awesome video games, do martial arts...........they're amazing because they work instead of slacking off like most of us! NOT ALL JUST MOST! and not meaning to offend anyone, but just think about it! We're so rich, we've become lazy! at least i think so!

Part of the reason I dont have as much respect for the US is because I know a few more of historys "deeper" secrets than you guys probably do. You do realize there are quite a few thing that most history teachers "glaze over" in school. Like in Germany, they dont talk about Hitler, generally. In the US, we dont talk about Japanese Internment Camps, or the fact that we[the US] didnt join the WWII until after Pearl Harbor. ~*Susie*

oh i dont doubt that there is screwed up stuff, currently and in the past, in the US. I am kinda with Hannah, i have never experienced any other life in another country, hell in another state, not even in another town! I think our politicians, not all of them, are pretty corrupt. It's sad. But i am happy to live in a dominant country and a rich country rather than a poor or oppressed country. All countrys have problems, and i know the USA can be the big bad US and gang up on people. hmmm i dont remember my point.
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY! (lol my little tribute to the us lol!
