"ya sooo how bout them yankees..." Rory interupted Tristan's thoughts. "huh?" "Nevermind" Rory smirked. "Umm so how did you manage at Chilton without me?" Tristan said with a conceited grin. And the beast within rears it's ugly head. "ugh Tristan please tell me you're not going back to your grade school taunting." "Course not, I just thought maybe you missed it..." He said sadly. "While i may have missed you i certainly didn't miss your mary's, makeout sessions, and your conceited alter ego." "Ya, i meant to tell you I'm sorry about all that. I hadn't planned on meeting on such... suprising circumstances. Do you mind if i let my split personality get the best of me and asked why you're working here all of the sudden i mean your mother never mentioned it to me and we well talked." uh how embarrassing, Rory thought. "Well ugh she thought it might give me some edge and prepare for college," she lied.

Oh, so the girl wants edge, the thought made Tristan smile, right now she's got more edge than I can handle. Tristan sucked in a breath and once again admired what the space of 2 years had enhanced in her. Her crystal blue eyes sparkled and were filled with happiness. He longed to touch just once that cheek that looked so soft and smooth. He brushed his hand through his hair and became suddenly shy. Rory picked up on the sudden change. "What's wrong?," she questioned laying a hand on his arm and feeling him immediately tense up. "Oh... it's nothing, I'm just tired i guess,"he looked down scared she'd see the love and longing in his eyes. "When do you get off? We have a lot of lost time to make up for. " "Well i get off about four then I was planning to go home and make up for my lack of sleeping from getting up so early this morning... unless of course you have a better idea..." "What i have in mind would take some serious energy on your part so if you really think you could handle it ill pick you up at your place at seven. Plenty of time to nap and get ready, where something comfortable though because it will be a long night," he grinned mischieviously making Rory think twice about going tonight, but there was no way she could resist that disarming smile... it truly was going to be a long night and Rory would have to guard her heart. She couldn't bare it if Tristan just got up and left again. Not meaning to blame him, but knowing she couldn't stop, Rory was determined to never be hurt again.

"AAAAAAAAH!" Rory cried flinging herself on the bed in frustration. "WHY ME? WHY?" "Oh, oh, oh!Yes! It's finally happened. She's reached the teen angst stage!" Lorelai rushed in excitedly, "Honestly Rory, i thought youd skipped it but no its just very late! Yay, this is the part where I get to murmur words of consolation and then you go all-" "MOM! I am not suffering from a very late phase of puberty... I just can't figure out what to wear." huffed Rory dramatically. "What are we going for? Rory super vixen? Or are you still working the Rory-girl next door, Oprah's book club reading-" "Ugh, nevermind." "Oh, Ror, I'm sorry. Could you ever find it in your heart to forgive me?" Lorelai fluttered her eyes innocently causing Rory to roll her eyes. "Spare me. Now the blue or the pink?"Rory held up identical pink and blue baby tees. "Decisions, decisions... The blue will highlight your eyes and the pink your skin tone. Do you want him to be unable to resist touching your skin or have him gazing longingly at your eyes?" Rory didn't think those questions merited an answer and chose the blue, matching it with a simple knee lenght jean skirt and a pair of flip flops. Please let this be casual enough she thought hoping there wouldnt be anything that required she do much walking. Her nap did her no good, she was so cranky and stressed out. At least with her new cute short hairstyle she didnt have to think about how she would do with her hair. Oy. Here she was, an ivy league college student, acting like a preteen about a stupid boy. A stupid boy with messy blond hair and stop you in the street gorgeous blue eyes. A stupid boy whose mere presence sent her heart in to quadruple back flips. A stupid boy who- ding dong- WAS HERE!

Tristan nervously rung the doorbell and shook his head smiling in disbelief. He saw Lorelai through the stainglass windows of the door and he braced himself for what he was sure was about to be an interrogation. "MWAHAHAHA, welcome to my lair," howled Lorelai ushering him in. "I come baring gifts," Tristan laughed as Lorelai brought him into the living room and took the coffee. "Oh, you're a sly one you are." Suddenly she turned on him, again, just like at breakfast. "What are your intention to my daughter?" She eyed him warily, "I'm watching you pretty boy so don't think just because you can put a rifle together in 45 seconds blindfolded and supply me with my liquid love I'll let you hurt my daughter." "I wouldn't dream of it, Ms.-" "YOU WANNA DIE YOUNG BOY?" Lorelai cut him off huge grin plastered on her face,"that's Lorelai to you, you'd think at that fancy smancy military academy they'd teach you to mind your elders..." "Hello," Rory entered the room breathlessly, tucking her hair behind her ear. Tristan's heart stopped beating and sped up all at the same time. She looked so beautiful. "Hi yourself,"he replied taking every inch of her in. "Oh, wait before you say anything else out of a romance classic let me get some popcorn... or at least a camera." Lorelai bounded out of the room happily. Rory turned twenty shades of red and muttered,"Let's go." Following her out the door, he paused, "Bye Lorelai." "Anytime, as long as there's coffee involved." He heard her reply. "So beautiful, I bet you're dying to know where your night and shining armor is leading you." "My night and shining armor? Where? " Rory laughed, "Haha very funny, i guess i'll just have to find someone else to take to laser tag because you have to go search for Romeo..." "LASER TAG?" Rory squealed, my my this was going to be an interesting date. "Ya, if figured i show off all the neat tricks i learned from military school, though i don't think you can handle." "you don't scare me. I am a force to be reckoned with so bring it on..." Rory rushed to the passenger seat door and plopped in. You sure do scare me,Tristan thought.

"Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun na na dun na na dun na na na na" Rory hummed the mission impossible theme as she peaked over a neon, illuminated wall in search of Tristan. She was having the time of her life, it was an odd choice to take her to laser tag, but she had to admit, it was a good one. Her adrenaline was pumping as she crouched low to the ground, hearing a shot aimed at her. She looked around to see where it came from and saw the tip of a gun barely visible alond a doorway in the center of the laser tag room. She thought to herself, whether or not to head face first into danger or to continue in hiding. She chose the former, feeling brave and carefree. Having left her flip flops at the entrance a the game, she snuck quietly right behind the doorway. Hearing Tristan's loud breathing as he decided what move to make, she decided to used the element of suprise and leaped in front of him taking aim and hitting him squarely in the chest. His siren went off and the intercoms signaled the end of their game. "Cheap shot" Tristan laughed, "shoot the man when he's down..." He dusted himself off and they walked side by side to the suit room. "Not cheap, intelligent, do i hear the cry of a sore loser?" Rory replied. Still high on the adrenaline rush, she twirled and danced as she unsuited herself, singing "I beat Tristan," over and over again. "What's this? A victory dance? The girl revels in my failure. I went easy on you," Tristan tilted his head taking in all the beauty of Rory. He mentally punched himself for ever letting this girl get away from him. So lost in this fact, Tristan neglected to realize Rory was no longer singing and dancing, but looking at him with a concerned expression on his face. "Tristan?" her voice held an air of question to it and brought him out of his daze. "Oh, uh, sorry, I spaced out," he blushed and Rory decided to let it slide. "That'll be two demerits," Rory teased and saluted him. Tristan was glad that awkward moment was over. They were walking out of the Mike's Laser Tag when Tristan asked gallantly,"What prize does the lady favor for defeating the likes of me?" Rory looked at him in the eye, not quite sure of how to take that question. "Uhhhh, coffee?," Rory managed then rolled her at eyes at her own stupidity and blushed. "Done, but do you think...,"Tristan paused for a moment and considered if he was actually going to say this, "I should get a consolation prize?" Wide eyed, Rory mumbled, "What kind of consolation prize?" Tristan grinned, "As I recall there was a certain part, of a certain play that was never suitably acted out... " "I'm not sure what you mean," her heart skipping a beat, Rory looked everywhere but Tristan in an attempt to maintain an air of composure. "Perhaps I should jog your memory, fair Juliet," and in that moment Tristan pulled Rory to him and said," Oh true apothecary, thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss, I die." He looked into her eyes and saw tears had begun to form. He couldn't let this moment get away, but he also couldn't let her cry again as she'd done the first time he'd kissed her. Taking her face in his hands he whispered, "I am not leaving this time without a kiss." A tear rolled down Rory's cheek as she went up on her tiptoes and their lips met.
